Our Mission
Our ultimate goal is to share love, compassion, hope, and warmth with babies and children who need a little extra softness in their lives.

Blankies for Babies is an unofficial not-for-profit organization started as a way to reach out to infants, toddlers, and small children.  The organization was started in the form of a 'Blankie Party' in an effort to collect, make, and distribute baby blankets to a local U.S. Military Hospital's NICU in Fall 2006.

Blankies for Babies makes, collects, and distributes blankies to United States Military Hospital NICU's in the United States, and has recently sent blankies to the Jordan to help Iraqee refugees.  We are committed to our local communities and desire to give back by also distributing blankies to local foster care agencies and hospitals.

Our History
Blankies For Babies was started in Fall of 2006 by Mrs. Christina Borden in an effort to touch the lives of children and families like she was touched.

In the summer of 2004, Mrs. Borden arrived to her premature son's bedside at a Military Hospital to find someone from a local charity had left a small blanket and note of encouragement for her child.  After moving to Hawaii, Mrs. Borden sought to get involved with that charity only to find that there were no local chapters.  Not to be put-off, Mrs. Borden decided to hold a small party  in Fall of 2006 to make no-sew blankets, take in donations, and drop off whatever was made or collected to the military hospital in her area.

Other Mom's responses were so overwhelming and encouraging that Mrs. Borden decided to continue holding these small events, and after much thought decided to make Blankies for Babies official.

Blankies For Babies is not yet an official organization.  However, Mrs. Borden is in the processes of making it such.
